Serving Together at Whitney UMC

Living as the Hands and Feet of Jesus in Our Community

At Whitney United Methodist Church, we believe we are called to be the hands and feet of Jesus — loving and serving our community in real, tangible ways. Our mission is to feed our community spiritually, intellectually, and physically through ministries that reflect Christ’s love.

We welcome new members and fresh ideas in all areas of ministry. There's a place for you here.

Worship & Music Ministries

Praise Band – Six Ways to Sunday
Our praise band includes three dedicated musicians. They rehearse Thursday evenings and again one hour before worship on Sundays.

Chancel Choir
The Chancel Choir meets Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. and warms up 30 minutes before worship on Sundays. All voices are welcome!

Spiritual Growth & Prayer

Prayer & Share
This small group gathers Wednesdays at 1:30 p.m. for a short Bible study and time to reflect on where each person has seen God during the week.

We Pray – Prayer Team
Meets Fridays at 11:00 a.m. to lift up prayer requests and coordinate care for those in need of prayer.

Fellowship & Care

Shawlers
Meets on the first and third Thursdays at 2:00 p.m. to knit and crochet prayer shawls, which are blessed and given to those facing grief, illness, or hardship. These shawls are a physical reminder of God's love.

Celia Cowan Circle

United Women in Faith

This group meets on the first Wednesday of each month and leads many of our outreach efforts. They coordinate:

  • Annual scholarship awards to local high school seniors connected to Whitney
  • Support for Whitney Elementary School
  • The Whitney Women’s Christmas Brunch every first Saturday in December, where women bring warm children's shoes, boots, or socks for donation
United Methodist Men (Currently Inactive)

Traditionally met on the first Saturday at 9:00 a.m. for breakfast, devotions, and connection.
