Whitney UMC has a vibrant Family Life, serving the children and families of the Whitney UMC family and community.
Whitney United Methodist Church provides resources and tools that help our little ones, youth, and their grown-ups grow accustomed to living out a vibrant life of love that is given to us by our Creator, Savior, and Holy Spirit.
Nursery and Inter-generational Worship:
Our nursery is open from 9:30 until 11:00 during worship on Sunday mornings! Little ones up to the age of 5 are welcome.
Children over the age of 5 are welcome to come join us in worship either sitting with their families or spending time at our “messy” table in the back with materials and activities provided, where they can color, draw, create, or read; where all are welcome, regardless of age or ability. Our kids and their families are often involved in traditional worship and having them at the table in the room enriches us all!
We also have a Sunday School every other week for our older children.
Our Creation Care series explored how God uses nature, animals, and food as a teacher for how to live in Christian love and discipleship. We are also challenged to stretch our circle of “neighbor” to include the various elements of God’s creation, including the soil, the water, plants, insects, and animals. This series is meant to remind us that we are all intimately connected to Creation and uniquely responsible for loving stewardship.
Our Advent series explored the traditional themes of Advent, through quick messages and creating a communal art poster.
