Ways to Help

Community Dinner is a monthly  meal that is prepared in our kitchen and served to the community.

It happens every 3rd Friday of each month.

Volunteers are needed anytime from 1:30 pm to 8:00 pm.

Anyone can help, including children.

You do not need to be a master chef to help.

Tasks include:

  • chopping veggies,
  • preparing meat,
  • boiling water for rice,
  • making lemonade,
  • serving food,
  • talking with our guests,
  • setting tables
  • washing dishes.

Joseph’s Closet

Joseph’s Closet is our warm clothing ministry.  Every October-February we offer coats, gloves, hats, scarves, and some clothes to people in our neighborhood who need them.

Ways you can help:

  • Donate — You can donate these all year. During the summer, we store them.  Just bring to the church office.
    • coats for all ages (but we especially need Men’s coats.)
    • gloves, hats, scarves, socks and warm clothes.
    • Blankets and sleeping bags.
  • Donate money to help offset the cost of the trailer we rent to house Joseph’s Closet. Make check to the church and mark it Joseph’s Closet.
  • During October-February, we always need people to help work in the closet.

This last season we helped keep over 500 people warm.

Donating food to help feed our neighbors is an easy way to help fulfill our church’s mission

Bring food for South Jr. High Pantry and St. Vincent DePaul Food Pantry

This spring South Jr High opened a food cupboard to help feed hungry students.  St. Vincent DePaul Food Pantry also needs food donations.

Some suggestions are:

mac and cheese                              rice

dry beans                                         instant potatoes

ramen noodles                                oatmeal

pasta                                                  dry cereal

dry soup packets    etc

Canned tuna                                    Canned meats (chicken, etc)

Canned beans                                 Soup

Peanut butter                                  Canned fruit and veggies

and more…

Bring items to the church office and we will take them to where they need to go.

Every Saturday we offer a free sack lunch for all who live in the 83705 zip code.  The lunch has a sandwich, fruit, carrots, a treat and milk.  There are usually other food items avalible as well.  Lunch is provided on Saturdays between 11 am and 12:30 pm.

People can help make these lunches and hand them out.  Workers open the church at 10:00 am and make the lunches. Everything is provided.  There are supervisors that oversee each Saturday.   Anyone can help including children.

If you are interested in helping with Saturday lunch, call the church office at 208-343-2892.
